First, the mandatory disclaimer:
I've been told I am sometimes harsh on my comments. Keep in mind I LOVE playmobil. It is GREAT. Without a doubt and by FAR, the GREATEST toy on the Universe. And also keep in mind that I've bought these (they are not sent for free for review!) - meaning, despite all the "problems" I point out, they are VERY MUCH WORTH IT. We ALL know playmobil rules, so I suppose I tend to point out the problems. There are only so many ways of saying AWESOME, right?
This is a REALLY colorful batch, like the 5 main klickys themselves...
The display is new, I think:
And actually includes instructions
:
The outer box has this new detail (or at least I hadn't seen it before)
(I
so love this!)
Unfortunately, the huge packaging affects the surprise series too. These are boxes, not the usual packs.
On the side there's again that list of thingies..
When you open the box, the biggest surprise is probably the grey bag. What in Hades..
Why? Inside the box, the card and sticker (besides the leaflet and parts stickers) are out of the bag, litterally - so, the figure is already identified.
Are the grey bags cheaper? More environmentally friendly? (or should I say less unfriendly?)
A mystery.
The leaflet is the same as the huge boxes - I guess there is one per series...
Note that if you fold it in half, as a normal person would, the figures get "cut". FRITZ TOMÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉ!!!! It boggles mind.
This time these are not
figures, in the sense that they are not meant to pop easily. I had expected that with
The Movie ones too. This makes sense, if these are meant to be some sort of characters from the dreams, right? Makes
little difference around here, anyways... (though the speedos pop harder than the normal ones, they do pop!)
There are cards and stickers for each of the surprise figures too (like for the main characters in the huge boxes)...
The cards:
And the stickers:
As to the "charms"... Well, there are 12 different cupcake thingies (in odd colors):
All well and good - colorful cupcakes are nice.... except... they do not actually
stand, do they?
The bases make them useless without some serious workaround. Part of me says "just cut the fracking ring"... but another is against that...
So I figured just forget it - buy some extra normal cupcake bottoms, and there: problem solved.
Except it doesn't work that way.
I was furious and disappointed when a fellow playmofriend said that these were not compatible with the existing ones.
That had NEVER crossed my mind.
So, details - new "charms" on the left, original "normal" cupcakes on the right:
There are very few cupcakes around here. Well... there were. Anyways, I hadn't noticed that, since I hadn't put them side by side.
Maybe these are like this to better attach to the base? I don't know.
What I know is that my plan to just get normal bases for these colorful tops is not gonna work.
I wonder if it's possible to drill a larger hole in the normal ones. Probably not, because of the slots for the hand.
Well, usual system: follow all the pages to see everything, or use these shortcuts for a specific figure:
