71760 Boys

(part 1/3)

1. Robin Hood

A nice variation of Robin Hood... I am not overly fond of the prince hair sculpt, but works quite well for an Errol Flynn version of Robin Hood (my age showing )

The gold sword does seems a bit off to me.

The prints are nice, and the colors are very pretty. The arms in green are new, and most welcome.

Like the arms, the quiver and hat colors may be new, or at least uncommon, which is always good.

The arrows were inside the quiver, in the bag.

2. Space Fighter

I have no idea what he is meant to be, but I like him a lot. Interesting idea, making BA's head in really odd colors...

I love the light orange of the boots... but I find the bright dark orange in the arms looks really odd.

The heads are NOT figures heads. This happened before, with the worm-like Ghost Diver from Scooby-Doo, and one of the Centurions from The Movie. Not good. At all. But I think this time SOME people did get the correct heads, unlike what happened with the Ghost Diver.

The arm armor is Novelmore's Invicibus one, all in black. Nice. I also like the fireballs and the rollerblades - those are not as common these days, I think.

3. Officer

A completely common klicky, existing in several sets before. WHY?

It's not that there is something really wrong with him. He's fine, and well armed. Though I think his torso and hat are a bit too fancy for the pole axe.

He looks more like an officer type to me that a soldier, and so not great for army building.

His short ponytail is not very common these days, I think.

4. Valentine Man

The idea is nice, but it is a shame to use an existing torso. It is kinda distinctive, and was already used in at least another couple of sets (an airport passenger and a construction foreman - playmoDB links).

Would have been great simply in different colors.

I don't like the rosy cheeks for males, but that could be me. Some stuff in playmo I do associate with a specific gender, and.. well, it just doesn't work for me.

The heart piece is not new, but not common. I like it.
